Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy the Corsair HX1500i (2025) power supply, which I know is a powerful and reliable PSU. However, there's one thing I'm a bit confused about. This model doesn't come with a built-in 12V-2x6 connector; instead, it uses a cable that connects from two 8-pin outputs on the PSU to the 12V-2x6 connector for the GPU. My concern is whether this cable can safely handle 600W in the long term. I've heard that traditional 8-pin PCIe connectors are capped at 150W each, meaning that with two of them, it could only push around 300W. Is that true? Should I look for a PSU that has a native 12V-2x6 output, or can I trust that the HX1500i (2025) will be safe and reliable with this cable setup? Thanks for your input!

Corsair PSUs can actually handle 300W per 8-pin cable, so with two 8-pin connectors, you're good for 600W. Corsair knows their equipment, and this setup is designed to handle the power. Most modern quality PSUs follow this 300W limit too, so don’t stress over the old 150W claims; those are outdated. You'll be fine!

That makes sense! So it looks like the HX1500i (2025) won't have any issues supplying 600W then. Should I just stick with it or consider a PSU with a native 12V-2x6?
