Hey everyone! My girlfriend is looking to build a budget PC, and I'm considering swapping my current 12 GB RTX 3080 for a 16 GB RX 9060 XT. I want to know if the RX 9060 is genuinely an upgrade over the 3080, or if the 3080 still holds the advantage despite having less VRAM. I'm not really into ray tracing, but I do love DLSS, so I'm weighing my options here. Also, I spotted the 9060 on sale at Best Buy for $360, but upgrading to the 9070 would set me back around $350 more, which seems steep. Would appreciate your thoughts!

Nope, your 3080 is faster for sure! If you're looking for something with more power and can spare some budget, the 9070 XT at $600 would give you a nice uplift of about 30-40%. But if you're thinking of selling your 3080 for about $300, that could fund the upgrade nicely.
Thanks for the insight! I think I'll just stick with my 3080 for now!
Honestly, your RTX 3080 is going to give you better overall performance and speed. Even though it has less VRAM, it still gets the job done really well, especially for gaming. I'd hang on to the 3080 if I were you!
Honestly, jumping to the RX 9060 is more of a downgrade. In terms of raw power, it's around 15% slower than your current card. Not really worth the swap unless you really need the extra VRAM for something specific.

Just be aware, those cards are still going for about $400 right now, so you might get a decent return if you sell your 3080.
