I dropped my phone a while back and now the buttons don't work. It wasn't a big deal until last night when my phone ran out of battery while I was asleep. After charging it, I found that my phone won't turn back on. I've searched for ways to reboot it, but all I found were methods involving button combinations and USB debugging, which I never enabled. Do I really need to take it to a repair shop? My phone is from the 2010s, a Motorola model.

You can have it fixed or just get a replacement. If they're able to find parts for it, fixing might be costly, and you could probably find a cheap 2024 or 2025 Moto G series phone. They're low-end, but a nice upgrade from your 2010s model.
If fixing it is too expensive, consider buying a new phone and taking it to a repair shop to transfer your data. They usually do that for less than it would cost to repair your old phone.
You might be out of luck. The only other option you could consider is an OTA firmware update, but that would only force a reboot if your device is still receiving updates. Given that it’s an older phone, it’s likely not getting those anymore.
Honestly, you're probably better off heading to a repair shop to get the buttons replaced. It could be a hassle and might cost as much as a new phone, especially for a device that's over a decade old.
