RAM does not stop working simply because a laptop was left unplugged. That explanation is more commonly associated with batteries, not memory. The module could still be defective, but I’d ask the technician to test it properly before approving a replacement. Consider paying only for the diagnostic work and getting a second opinion from another repair shop.
₹4,500 sounds very high for RAM in a 7–8-year-old laptop, especially if it uses DDR3 or another older standard. Check the exact capacity, speed, and type printed on the module, then compare prices from several reputable sellers and repair shops. Prices can vary locally, but the shop should be able to provide a clear model number and warranty.
