My boss has asked me if I'd be willing to pursue the Togaf certification. However, I'm not familiar with architecture and I'm not even sure if we really utilize this methodology in our organization. As a sys admin and project engineer focused on building our Modern Workplace using Intune and Entra ID, I have concerns. Is Togaf certification something I can realistically accomplish, and how challenging is it?

I didn't realize Togaf was a certification at first! I thought it would be more about architectural methods than actual IT. It seems like more of a course than something directly related to being a systems architect; it has only one IT-related unit.
Honestly, I think Togaf is overhyped. It’s pretty easy to pass; it’s mostly just memorizing vocabulary. If your only goal is to understand architecture, I'd suggest going for a certification in cloud architecture instead of Togaf.
I feel like Togaf isn't that relevant. It's cool if you're into architecture, but it might not give you the skills you need as a sys admin. Plus, there are better certifications you could explore.

Yeah, I agree! I'm currently going through TOGAF and it really focuses on designing processes for architecture rather than practical systems design.
