Is Upgrading to a 9060 XT 16GB from a 6700 XT 12GB Worth It?

Hey everyone! I'm considering whether to upgrade my current Sapphire Pulse 6700 XT 12GB graphics card. Right now, I can sell it for around 200-220€ on the second-hand market. There's an opportunity to buy a new Asus Dual 9060 XT 16GB for about 400€. I mainly play games like modded Minecraft (with shaders), Genshin Impact, CS2, League, and both Hollow Knights, among others. I'm trying to figure out if this upgrade is worthwhile, especially since I think the resale value of the 6700 XT might drop more than the cost of the 9060 XT in the future. I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions! Just a heads up, I don't really care about FSR or better ray tracing performance since those features don't impact the games I play.

Honestly, I think now's a good time to upgrade while prices are still reasonable. The new generation will probably cost even more down the line, so getting a new card now could be a smart move.

The 9060 XT is about 25% faster and has 4GB more VRAM, but honestly, I’m not sure if it’s worth the extra cash. If you’re not playing games that utilize FSR or really push Ray Tracing, you might not notice much difference for the price.

I feel the same way. If those features aren't appealing to you, then the upgrade might not be necessary.

That’s true, but I also wonder if it’ll be worth it for future titles.

If you're looking for something with similar performance, maybe consider the RX 6800 16GB instead. I recently got one, and it feels comparable to the 9060 XT in terms of performance. Plus, it's a bit cheaper!

It sounds more like you have a CPU bottleneck rather than a GPU issue. Moving up to 1440p or upgrading your CPU and maybe memory could be a better route.

I wouldn't go for it either. Most of the games you mentioned lean more on the CPU side, so you might only see a slight increase in frames. Better to save that money for something that’ll give a bigger boost.
