Issue with Apple Store Checkout: Money Taken but No Order?

Hey everyone,

I recently attempted to buy a MacBook Air through the Apple Store using Apple Pay and a voucher. At checkout, I encountered an error that said "too many requests," and it wouldn't let me proceed further. What's odd is that my banking app shows the money has already been deducted, yet there's no order appearing on Apple's website. I even contacted Apple Support, and they couldn't find any record of my order.

The representative mentioned that the money should be back in my account within 1 to 2 days, but I'm curious if anyone here has faced a similar situation. Is it possible for Apple to still process my original order despite showing no record of it, or am I just looking at a refund?

Thanks for your help!

P.S. I'm in Germany and made the purchase through the Apple Edu Store.

It sounds like Apple never actually received your order since you didn't get an order confirmation or an order number. Without that, they can't fulfill anything because there's nothing in their system to process.

Cheers, makes sense if you think about it like that.

What you're seeing is likely a pending charge. Typically, your bank will reverse this after a few days if the merchant (in this case, Apple) doesn't finalize the transaction. It usually takes about 1-5 business days for the funds to bounce back.

Thank you for clarifying that!

The funds should eventually return to your account automatically. Both Apple and your bank aren't able to do much since it’s out of their hands at this point, so it's just a waiting game now.

Thanks! That really puts my mind at ease.
