Issues with Delegated Mailboxes in New Outlook Client

I've been encountering some peculiar behavior with delegated mailboxes in the New Outlook client. Typically, in classic Outlook, when a user is granted Full Access to a shared or user mailbox through the Exchange Online portal or PowerShell, the mailbox appears automatically within about 15 minutes. This has been standard for years. In Outlook Web App (OWA), although the mailbox isn't automatically mapped, users can add it manually through Settings > Account > Shared With Me if they have the necessary permissions, which seems to be the expected behavior. However, in the New Outlook, there's no automapping after granting Full Access, and attempts to add it via Shared With Me result in an error message stating, "Something Went Wrong - Contact the owner of the account or try again after some time." Even more confusing, if Full Access permissions are assigned and the mailbox is added in OWA, after returning to the New Outlook, it shows up but expanding the folders leads to a message saying, "You might not have permission to perform this action." It appears that delegate access is malfunctioning only in the New Outlook. I've read that recent updates should have resolved some of these issues, but I'm beginning to think there's something specific in our setup that's causing the problem with delegations in New Outlook that I haven't pinpointed yet.

Honestly, New Outlook feels like just OWA in a different form, but somehow it manages to be less functional. It's frustrating.

I read somewhere that all of New Outlook is written and QA'd by AI. But come on, that's just fear-mongering. It's still tested by users like any other Microsoft product.

I heard that Microsoft is rolling out a newer version of Outlook, called Really New Outlook, which supposedly fixes the issues with shared mailboxes. But be warned, I've heard it can be glitchy with user mailboxes. If you don't need the new features, sticking with the classic Outlook might be your best bet.

I've had zero success with the Shared with Me feature in New Outlook. What works for me is right-clicking on the account and selecting "Add shared folder or mailbox" instead. But honestly, it’s hit or miss.

I've been able to add myself as a full access delegate to a shared mailbox without any issues; it just appears automatically in the New Outlook. This has been working fine for about 8-9 months now.
