Issues with Unsupported VM Sizes in Azure Government Free Trial

I'm facing some trouble with deploying virtual machines in Azure Government (my region is usgovvirginia). It seems that I'm only able to use Generation 2 VM sizes but when I try to deploy using 'Standard_A2_v2', I get an error message saying it can't boot Hypervisor Generation 2. I've checked that I'm only selecting VM sizes compatible with my region and zones, but the deployment keeps failing. I've also tried various sizes and zones without success. Could my free trial subscription be the issue? Or do I need to individually test each zone and VM size to find one that works? Any guidance or a size mapping chart would be super helpful!

It looks like you're trying to use an 'A' series VM which isn't supported in your case. The error about 'Standard_A2_v2' indicates it's part of that unsupported series. Check the documentation link you mentioned; it should list supported VM sizes for your specific setup. If you're trying any VM sizes marked as supported but still facing issues, it might be a configuration mismatch or something specific to your subscription.

Exactly! I tried using supported VM sizes and still got the same error. It seems there's a discrepancy between what's marked as supported in the Azure portal and what actually works. It’s frustrating!

Have you confirmed your vCPU quota? Sometimes, the issue might be related to how many resources your subscription allows. If you're hitting limits, it could restrict your options. You might also consider trying to deploy in USGovArizona; there may be more available capacity there.
