Issues with Windows Explorer After Domain Migration

I need some assistance here. After moving our systems to a new domain, all PCs running Windows 11 (version 21H2) have started experiencing serious issues. The taskbar and start menu completely vanished, the settings app won't open, and the right-click menu takes forever to show up. Alt+Tab has also stopped functioning, and the explorer.exe process takes an unusually long time to launch after restarting. Everything was running smoothly before the migration. Has anyone dealt with this?

Could you give a bit more detail about how the migration happened? Like the number of servers and workstations involved, and if they were in different locations? That way, we can better diagnose the issue.

One suggestion would be to update at least one of the affected machines to a newer build. Anything older than 24H2 isn't supported anymore, which could be causing problems.

Before the migration, try disabling UCPD (User Controlled Power Device). It might help clear up some of these issues.

It might be related to group policies in the new domain. You should run the command 'gpresult /r' on the affected machines and compare the results to those on the old domain.

Are the users still logging into accounts tied to the old domain? I wonder if this could be a factor. Also, did you test the migration with any devices before rolling it out to all computers?

All user accounts are now registered to the new domain. We did test the migration with a few Windows 10 devices, and everything seemed fine.

I would recommend using Procmon on the problematic machines. It can help trace what file and network activity is happening. I suspect there might still be links to the old domain that Explorer is picking up.

How did you migrate the workstations and accounts? It sounds like you might have done it manually. Just wondering if that could have led to some issues with the new credentials.
