I'm checking out the MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WIFI ATX Motherboard but want to keep costs down on my build. Can anyone recommend a motherboard that offers similar features but at a lower price? I'd prefer to avoid ASRock due to some bad reviews I've seen.

What features are you actually looking for? If you're uncertain, I’d suggest focusing on future-proofing, like good port support and decent VRAM, especially if you're planning to upgrade your GPU later on.

Exactly! The main thing is ensuring it can handle future upgrades. Just check for compatibility with the components you might want in the future!

You might want to consider the MSI B850-P WIFI. The difference in features is minor—12 + 2 + 1 power phases instead of 14 + 2 + 1, plus it has a Realtek ALC897 audio chip compared to the ALC4080 in the Tomahawk. It’s a solid choice without breaking the bank.

The Tomahawk series is generally well-balanced when it comes to ATX boards. If you're looking for something slightly more compact, you could also check out the Mortar lineup, as it’s the mATX version and often has a good feature set for the price.
