Hey everyone! I recently picked up a 9800X3D and I'm trying to choose a motherboard. I've heard a lot about some motherboards frying CPUs, which is really concerning. My budget is around $270, and I've heard mixed things about Asus and Asrock boards. I'm currently considering the GIGABYTE AORUS ELITE B850. Can anyone share their insights or recommendations on motherboards for this CPU? Thanks!

I've had good luck with the X870E-E chipset. If you're open to other options, the MSI boards are solid too. Personally, I'm eyeing the MSI Godlike motherboard!
You should definitely steer clear of Asrock boards with the X3D CPU. I'm not sure if they've fixed their issues, but there's still chatter about it. The GIGABYTE B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 is a great choice. If you want alternatives around the $200 mark, check out the MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI or the Asus TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI. These boards offer excellent value without unnecessary features. Just make sure you don't overspend unless you specifically need the extras for productivity builds!
I'd be wary of Asus for now. I have an Asus board with the X870E-E chipset, and it has some slight stability issues with my RAM. Gigabyte has really upped their game, and MSI is currently the top choice.
How does the Asus TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI stack up against the Asus TUF GAMING B650E-PLUS WIFI that's $50 cheaper?

Is the Asus ROG Strix B-850G a good option?
