My older brother wants to build a PC mainly to relive his childhood by playing classic games like Age of Empires 2 and the original GTA trilogy. He has access to my Steam account since I sold my gaming PC and won't be playing for a while. He's aiming for a budget of around $500-700, but based on what I've heard from a friend who knows a lot about PC building, it might not be realistic to build anything for that price. I'd love to get some other opinions on whether it's possible to create a decent build on this budget, or if he should look into used pre-built options instead.

There's also this super neat nostalgia-themed PC case releasing next month for just $250. It could add a fun touch to a build!
You can definitely piece together a budget PC that can handle those older games without breaking the bank. Check out this combo I found on PCPartPicker that might work for you: it combines a solid GPU, CPU, and enough RAM to handle pretty much everything your brother wants to play. Just remember to grab a power supply and motherboard, as you’ll need those too!
But don't we need a power supply, motherboard, and CPU cooler though?
If your brother just wants that nostalgic feel without the hassle of building and maintaining a PC, he might want to think about renting a cloud PC. It’s around $30 a month, and he can use a cheap device to connect to it, which could save him some frustration!

Thank you for the suggestions!
