Looking for Budget-Friendly Upgrades for My Gaming PC

I recently purchased a gaming PC for around $300, which includes an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 with 8 GB VRAM, and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. My objective is to achieve at least 360 Hz in Counter-Strike 2 since I already have a 360 Hz monitor. Currently, I'm averaging about 200 Hz. I have an AM4 motherboard and was considering upgrading to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, but the prices seem pretty high right now. What are some cost-effective options I can explore to help me reach that 360 Hz goal?

To get a better understanding of your upgrade options, could you let us know what motherboard you're using and the speed of your DDR4 RAM? If you're not sure, consider downloading CPU-Z and sharing the images from the various tabs; that's super helpful to diagnose. While the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is a solid choice for performance, you might find that just upgrading the GPU could also give you a significant boost without breaking the bank!

I found the Ryzen 5800X for around $200 and the 5800X3D for about $500. Are you considering if the performance gain is worth the price difference? Depending on your motherboard, a BIOS update might be necessary to support the 5800X3D, so keep that in mind when deciding!

Definitely weigh the costs against the performance boost! If you're just after higher FPS in CS2, look at a GPU upgrade too. Sometimes those can offer nearly the same performance increase without the hefty CPU price.
