I'm a first-year engineering student and have some experience programming in C. This summer, I want to dive into Java as my first real programming language. I'm considering online courses like Udemy and Coursera, but I'm hoping for suggestions on better resources to learn Java programming. Any recommendations?

You should really think about your learning style. Videos can be quick and easy but might miss some details. If you’re serious about understanding the inner workings, a solid book or that mooc.fi course would be better for depth. Try out a few resources and see what clicks for you, but make sure to finish one and avoid falling into that 'tutorial hell'. Good luck with your coding journey!
You might want to keep it simple early on. Check out learnxinyminutes.com/java for a quick overview, but also keep official documentation handy for more in-depth learning. Just remember, it might not be suitable for complete beginners!
Check out this site: java-programming.mooc.fi/. I've heard a lot of good things about it and plan to start the course myself this summer!
That site has some great reviews! I've been meaning to give it a try too.
I’ve heard it's the best Java course out there!
Udemy's got plenty of courses, and you can get a certification for completing them. Just keep in mind, those certificates aren't really considered valuable in the job market; they're just proof you finished the course.
True. Those completion certificates don’t hold much weight in professional settings.
Yeah, I wouldn't suggest that site for someone just starting out. Stick to more beginner-friendly resources at first.
