Looking for PC Build Advice After Years Away

It's been a while since I've built a PC. The last one I put together had an i7-2400k and an RX580 GPU, which was top-tier back then. Now I'm trying to get back into gaming, but I'm a bit lost on the current hardware landscape. I did a quick search and settled on a potential build that includes an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC GPU, ROG STRIX 870E-E motherboard, 32GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 RAM, a Corsair RM1000x power supply, but I'm still undecided on the case and cooler. I have an OLED TV for my display and peripherals ready, but I'm looking for insights on whether my choices are good and what changes I might consider. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like you're off to a solid start! A few things to keep in mind: since you're going with DDR5, it might be better to aim for a Ryzen 7 or 9 from the latest series. The 9800X3D is a great choice, especially for gaming. Just remember, your motherboard will need to be compatible with whichever AMD chip you go for! Also, don't overspend on premium parts like the ASUS Strix or Astral series; you're paying extra for the brand without seeing much difference in performance!

Is DDR5 compatible with Intel CPUs too? I saw the Ryzen 7 9800X3D mentioned. Would I need a new motherboard for that?
