Hey everyone! Our organization currently has about 100 HP printers, including both laser and multifunction types. We've been using HP for over eight years, but we're starting to feel like they don't provide the best solutions for enterprise needs anymore. We're particularly frustrated with their remote management capabilities. While they offer Web Jetadmin, it requires installation on a Windows server or desktop and involves opening ports for devices not on our local network. This just isn't cutting it for us, especially since I can manage laptops and mobile devices remotely without these restrictions.
We're on the hunt for an enterprise printer manufacturer that offers robust remote management tools. We're looking for features like remote configuration, firmware and security updates, support for SSO or card authentication, consumable monitoring, proactive alerts, and the ability to print without being tied to our corporate network. Any recommendations?

We've had success using Canon devices combined with UniFlow Online. It's fairly straightforward, but it serves our needs well without any complications.
We've been leaning towards Lexmark lately because of their strong network features, like LLDP support. So far, we’re just using SNMP for monitoring, and it seems to work fine. Xerox might also be worth checking out, but I've found their model lines pretty confusing. For remote printing, we've been using IPP/Mopria, and even plain old TCP/9100 works too—just make sure to choose PostScript-compatible machines!

Just a heads-up, as of July 2025, Xerox actually owns Lexmark, so you might want to keep that in mind for future decisions!
