I have a spare set of 48GB 8000 MHz DDR5 RAM that I had to replace after it failed a couple of months ago. I'm currently using a 9800X3D CPU paired with 32GB of 6000 MHz CL30 RAM. Since I bought everything before the huge price hike in RAM, I've decided to build a second PC using leftover parts and the replacement RAM, which is now quite expensive. The only piece I'm missing is an AM5 CPU for a B650E-I motherboard. Any recommendations?

If gaming is your focus, the 3D V-cache on the X3D chips often makes up for the slightly slower RAM speeds.
What’s your main goal for this secondary PC? That could influence which CPU would be best for you.
For 8000 MHz CL40, it will perform similarly to 6000 MHz CL30 as long as you set your infinity fabric correctly at a 1:2 ratio. The higher speed memory costs more for a similar performance, so just choose an AM5 CPU that fits your budget for this secondary PC.

It's going to have a 3080 Ti in it, and I might end up giving it to my nephew. For now, I just want to hook it up to a projector for some living room gaming.
