Looking for Upgrade Advice for My PC (No CPU Needed)

Hey there! I'm looking to upgrade my PC since I'm running into some issues with my RAM and I have an outdated CPU. Here's my current setup: Intel i7-8700, MSI B360 motherboard, 16GB RAM, a 250GB M.2 SSD, a 2TB HDD, and an RTX 3070. I'm aiming to replace my case, power supply, motherboard, RAM, and SSD—just not the CPU. I do a bit of gaming and video editing, and I'm open to buying used parts if it helps fit within my budget of around $650, though I can stretch it a bit if needed. Any recommendations?

Honestly, I'd still suggest saving up a bit longer to upgrade the CPU as well. Your current i7-8700 is about 8 years old now, and it might bottleneck newer components, especially with more demanding games and apps in the future. But if you're looking for a performance boost in the interim, the suggestions are solid!

Check out this part list I put together for you!

- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X for around $170.
- **CPU Cooler**: Thermalright Assassin King SE for about $18.59.
- **Motherboard**: MSI PRO B650M-P, which is about $129.99.
- **Memory**: Silicon Power XPOWER with 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 for $82.97.
- **Storage**: TEAMGROUP 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD for $58.49.
- **Case**: Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L for $39.99.
- **Power Supply**: Montech CENTURY II 850W fully modular for $89.90.

Total comes to around $590! This setup should give you a nice boost for gaming and editing!

Wow, almost a whole PC built for just under $600. Impressive! If you were upgrading the GPU too, you'd likely be looking at double the cost. Just be careful with bottlenecking in the future! What are your thoughts, OP?

I second what others have said—upgrading that CPU would really help! I know you said you don't need a new one, but just a heads up, your current CPU might hold your system back when gaming or editing. Definitely consider it for the future!
