I was just watching some YouTube videos on my desktop when it suddenly shut down. My UPS started beeping and giving an error. Resetting the UPS didn't help, and when I unplugged the computer from it, everything worked fine. But when I plugged the computer back into the UPS, it tripped again, indicating a problem on my end. I disconnected the power cables from my PSU and plugged it into the UPS directly, but it tripped immediately, which made me think the power supply had failed. I replaced the PSU, but now there's absolutely no sign of life; no lights, no fans, nothing. I tested the new PSU separately and it works under specific conditions, which leads me to believe that either my motherboard, CPU, or both might be dead. Any suggestions? My setup has an AMD 9800X3D, 32GB DDR5, and a 5070Ti. I built this system just two months ago.

Have you checked if the power button is still connected correctly? Sometimes it can get loose or disconnected inadvertently.
It sounds like something might have failed and caused damage to your PSU. Try disconnecting all components from the motherboard except for the CPU and its cooler, and see if there's any sign of life. If the motherboard doesn’t show any response, it could be either the motherboard or CPU that’s gone, which might mean a trip to a repair shop for thorough diagnostics.
If you have an ASRock motherboard, there have been quite a few reports of them failing with the 9800X3D CPUs. If that's the case, it might be the processor that's had an issue.
First, try resetting the CMOS. Make sure all your cables are securely connected, and if your PSU has a switch, double-check that it's switched on. Sometimes it's the simple things that cause bigger issues!
I did try the CMOS reset from the button on the back of the mobo. The power supply is definitely on, and I've rechecked the cables multiple times, including the 24 pin and CPU power cables.

Yes, the case's power button was never disconnected, and I rechecked it just to be sure.
