I recently assembled my first PC and installed a new Samsung Pro 990 2TB SSD. After ensuring everything was connected properly and updating to the latest BIOS, I still can't see the SSD listed in the BIOS interface. I've tried reseating the SSD multiple times to no avail. Here are my specs: MSI RTX 4070 ti, ASUS ROG Strix B850-F WiFi 7 motherboard, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU, Corsair Dominator Titanium RGB DDR5 RAM (2x24GB), and a 1000W PSU along with Corsair case and cooling. Any help would be fantastic!

Check your BIOS settings for CSM (Compatibility Support Module). It can sometimes cause detection issues if it's not configured correctly. It was set to disabled in my case during a similar problem.

I found the Boot/CSM option, and yep, it’s currently set to disabled.

Honestly, the 990 Pro has been known to fail unexpectedly. If you just bought it, I’d suggest returning it. There's a chance it might be DOA.

I got it just 24 hours ago—do you think it could really be dead out of the box?

Have you initialized the SSD in disk management yet? If it’s not showing in BIOS, you likely can’t access disk management either, but just something to check if you can get in later.

I can't get past the F2 BIOS menu right now, so I can't access disk management.
