My PC Keeps Crashing and Won’t Boot – What Should I Do?

I have a 2-year-old PC that has never given me any problems until tonight. While I was just browsing online, it suddenly crashed. I rebooted it, but after about 45 minutes of casual browsing, it crashed again and now it won't post at all. I've already tried swapping the power supply, but that didn't help. I've checked all the connections, and it seems like a hardware issue. Do you think that replacing the motherboard is the best move to make first?

First off, sorry to hear about your PC troubles! Have you checked your motherboard for any diagnostic lights? Those can often give you clues about what’s wrong. If it’s not lighting up at all, that could indicate a more serious hardware failure.

Yeah, I have an Asrock z690m-itx. It has a diagnostic LED, but I had it disabled. Currently, it seems totally dead.

It sounds like a bummer! Since you've already swapped out the power supply and everything seems unresponsive, your intuition about the motherboard might be spot on. If you've unplugged the CMOS and still have no response, replacing the motherboard could be your next best step. Just make sure to check if all your components are compatible with any new motherboard you consider.

Thanks for the input! I’ll definitely make sure everything is compatible before I make the switch.
