Today, someone in my house accidentally messed with the circuit breaker, turning it off for about 10 seconds. Everything was working fine before this, but now only my phone can connect to the internet. The TVs can't connect at all, even though the WiFi appears to be on. My PC shows it's connected but won't load any web pages. I really hope my PC wasn't damaged during the power issue. I've already tried disabling and re-enabling the network driver, restarting the PC, and running a couple of command prompts to reset the IP, but nothing has worked. I'm really confused and could use some help because I can't afford to replace my laptop, which is running Windows 11 and was in sleep mode when this happened, though it was plugged in and charging. Try power cycling your modem and router. Unplug them for about 10 minutes, then plug them back in and check which lights are lit. After that, see if your PC can connect to the internet again. Sometimes just giving the equipment a break can fix weird connectivity issues!
Open Command Prompt or PowerShell as an admin and run `ipconfig`. This will show you if you're getting any results. If you see a gateway address, try pinging it. If that works, try pinging a website like Yahoo. If there's no response, pinging 127.0.0.1 could show if your network card is functioning. From there, you can figure out if the issue is with your laptop, router, modem, or your ISP.
Check to see if the ISP feed line is still connected to the modem and check what LEDs are lit. If you have an Ethernet port on your laptop, try connecting it directly to the modem. If that works, then the problem lies in the router or switch.
Make sure your network has a public IP address. If not, you might need to contact your ISP. The issues could also stem from a glitch in your router caused by the brief power interruption, which might require a factory reset if nothing else works.
