My PC Turns On But Won’t Detect Any Peripherals – What Should I Do?

I put together a PC pretty quickly using some parts I borrowed from friends, but I'm running into a problem. The PC powers on, but it won't recognize anything I plug in, like the HDMI for my monitor or USB for my keyboard. I've checked the cables and they're not the issue, so I'm not sure what to do next. Here are the components I used: 1. ASUS GTX1650 SUPER, 2. PowerSpec 650 Watt 80 Plus Bronze ATX Power Supply, 3. MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4 motherboard, 4. Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4-2666 Memory, 5. Core i3-12100F CPU, 6. Corsair 5000D Airflow PC case. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Your motherboard has EZ Debug LEDs which can really help here. They should tell you what's going on with the system. Check what color they’re showing and refer to your manual for details. If you see yellow lights, that usually indicates a hardware issue that might need some further troubleshooting.

The lights are yellow. What does that mean for my setup?

Have you tried moving the RAM around or checking if the GPU is seated properly? From what you've said, it sounds like something might be off there. Also, if you swapped RAM and cleared the CMOS, that’s a good start. Just make sure your GPU is definitely working, as that could impact whether or not the PC recognizes peripherals.

I've used the graphics card before without issues. I'll try moving the RAM again, but does RAM have anything to do with peripherals? Also, what exactly is CMOS?
