I have a pre-built iBUYPOWER PC that I've been using for about three years. Recently, I installed an update right before shutting it down, and now it's giving me an error that says, "Your PC ran into an error and could not be repaired. Press Enter for troubleshoot options." I managed to get past this by doing a system restore, but when I powered off the PC again, it forced the update installation and I encountered the same error. Now, the restore option isn't working anymore, and even when I try all kinds of troubleshooting like uninstalling the update and booting in safe mode, I end up at the automatic repair screen that fails and leads back to the troubleshoot options. I really need help as I use this computer for my hobbies.

Honestly, this kind of stuff is pretty typical with Windows. It's the main reason I switched to Linux—never had these kinds of headaches since! But that’s a whole different path to consider.
I've faced a similar issue with my iBUYPOWER rig and ended up just doing a clean install. I couldn't get the repair tools to work and it drove me crazy. So I opted to upgrade to Windows 10 using a fresh USB boot and it solved all my issues. If you're into gaming, going for a clean slate might be your best bet.
If you can manage to boot in safe mode or access the recovery options, it might be worth it to back up your important files. From there, you could consider reinstalling Windows fresh from a USB drive. I know it’s a hassle, especially if you have lots of software and data, but sometimes a fresh start can save you a lot of time in the long run.
