My PC Won’t Boot After Adding a Synth—What Should I Do?

I recently installed a Ryzen 5 5500 CPU in my PC, and everything was running smoothly. Last night, I played games without any issues. However, today I decided to plug in my Arturia MicroFreak synth to the same power source used by my PC and screens. This caused my PC to freeze. I thought it was a power issue, so I unplugged the synth and some other devices, but after restarting, my monitor stays black. The PC powers on, but there's no display. I did manage to boot it in safe mode once, but it froze again right after Discord opened. I'm really frustrated and need some help—what's going on?

Have you checked if your CPU cooler is properly installed? Overheating could cause your system to freeze, especially after a new CPU install. Also, make sure your RAM is seated correctly. Sometimes reseating them can help if they're loose. And have you tried booting with only essential components? Removing extra hardware can help diagnose where the problem might be coming from.

Yeah, I’m using the stock cooler that came with the CPU. But I’ll double-check its installation and try booting with just the basics connected. Thanks for the tip!
