Hey folks! I recently swapped out my Ryzen 5 5600X for a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, but now my PC won't boot at all. I'm not getting any POST or BIOS screen—just complete silence. I did some digging and learned that I should have updated the motherboard BIOS first with the old CPU, but since I didn't have to do that when I swapped in the 5600X, it slipped my mind. After realizing this, I put the R7 back in the box and tried to boot with the R5, but it still wouldn't POST. Here's what I've tried so far: 1) Took out the CMOS battery for over 10 minutes, 2) Held down the flash BIOS button, 3) Checked the CPU power cable—everything looks good on that front. I'm a bit worried the CPU might not be working anymore since it's often cold to the touch. I ran it without the cooler for a bit, and it did start to heat up, so at least it's getting some power. The GPU fans spin up, and the monitor lights up for a second before going back to a 'no signal' state. The only light on the motherboard is the BOOT light, which keeps flickering on and off, with no indicators for GPU or CPU. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What motherboard are you using? It sounds like there might be an issue with it, especially since neither CPU is working now. Do you have access to another board just to test? That could help narrow down the problem.
I don't have an extra board, unfortunately. I did see a similar thread where someone had a dead mobo after a CPU swap. Seems like that's a possibility for me, too. I’ll head to Best Buy later and see about swapping out the board.
I've got the same motherboard: MSI MPG X570. If that's what you're using, some people have reported issues after certain updates.
