I'm setting up my first gaming rig and just built my PC and desk! Now I'm on the lookout for a good gaming monitor, ideally costing less than $200. I've been looking at features and would prefer an IPS display with a resolution of 1440p and a refresh rate of at least 144 Hz, looking at around 27 inches—though I'm open to other suggestions. Any recommendations?

There are actually tons of options on Amazon that offer 1440p and 240 Hz for around $160 to $180. It's worth checking out those deals while you can.

You're right to consider your budget. Hitting 144 fps at 1440p might be tricky unless you have a really powerful graphics card, but it’s manageable! Some monitors that claim higher hertz may not actually hit those numbers at that resolution, so keep that in mind.

If you're looking for a solid monitor in that price range, I'd recommend the Gigabyte M27Q or the AOC Q27G2S. They both have great specs with a 27-inch IPS screen, 1440p resolution, and refresh rates between 144 to 170 Hz.

For something like Asus ROG Strix XG27ACG, it usually goes for around $300 but often goes on sale for close to $200. It's an older model but has solid quality, better tuning, and features like ELMB Sync for smoother gaming. Definitely worth considering!

I just set up my rig and went with the MSI MAG 274QF—it's been working really well for me! I have a 5070 and a 5500X3D, and it runs Fortnite like a dream.
