I'm planning to build a 1440p gaming rig before the end of this year and would appreciate any feedback on my current setup. I believe it's a good balance between cost and performance in the mid-high end range for 1440p. I'm looking for suggestions on how to optimize my build for better performance while keeping costs in check. Also, if anyone has recommendations for monitors, I'd love to hear those too! For context, here are the games I want to play: Cyberpunk, Borderlands 4, Battlefield 6, Expedition 33, Hogwarts Legacy, Starfield, Forza Horizon 6 when it releases, and GTA 6 when it comes out. Here's my part list:
1. **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 9600X 3.9 GHz 6-Core - $194.95
2. **CPU Cooler:** Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE - $39.90
3. **Motherboard:** MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI - $229.99
4. **Memory:** TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert 32 GB DDR5-6000 - $328.99

6. **Video Card:** MSI VENTUS 3X OC BLACK GeForce RTX 5070 Ti - $749.99
7. **Case:** Lian Li Lancool 207 - $99.99
8. **Power Supply:** Corsair RM850x 850W Fully Modular - $129.99

If you have access to a Microcenter, look for their CPU and motherboard bundle deals. It's a great way to get quality components at a lower price. Also, keep an eye out for price drops on GPUs and RAM across various retailers; you could snag some great deals!
I suggest considering a less expensive motherboard. I've come across some reviews suggesting the Tomahawk has issues with its LAN; if you're going wireless, you might be okay though. I switched to a Gigabyte B850 Gaming X, which is about $150, freeing up some cash for a better CPU like the 7800x3d. My setup is similar, but I built it for around $1600! Check out my part list for ideas.
For your power supply, I think an 850W is a bit much. A 750W would be sufficient and could save you some cash. And yes, if you’re near a Microcenter, that could also help with savings! Consider looking at a lower-cost motherboard as well.
You might want to check out the 2TB SN850x for $139 at Walmart; it's a decent SSD and could save you some cash compared to the one you've selected. Just a thought!
Everything looks solid to me! You're set for some great gaming experiences with those specs. I might suggest looking into a 9070xt GPU instead; it can save you some money while still providing excellent performance.

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't thought about that; I’ll look into the 750W options!
