I'm in the process of building my first PC and I could really use some advice. The DDR5 RAM is quite pricey, around £329 for the 32GB TeamGroup T-Force delta RGB at 6000MHz. Would it be wise to go for DDR4 instead to save some money since it's only £100 cheaper? Here's what I've picked out for my build:
- **GPU**: Radeon RX 9060 XT Hellhound OC (white)
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
- **Motherboard**: ASRock AMD AM5 B850M Steel Legend WiFi
- **RAM**: TeamGroup T-Force delta RGB DDR5 6000MHz
- **SSD**: Crucial P310 2TB SSD M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe Gen4
- **Case**: Lian Li V100 mid tower case (white)
- **Power Supply**: MSI MAG A650BNL 650W, 80 Plus Bronze
- **CPU Cooler**: Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 Pro 360 A-RGB (white)
- **Extra Fans**: Arctic P14 Pro A-RGB (white)
I couldn't attach images, but any tips would be appreciated!

If you're already set on the AM5 platform, just go with the DDR5 RAM. You’re future-proofing your system by sticking with the latest tech. Enjoy building your new rig!
Just a heads up, don’t stress too much about the RAM brand. You can always switch it out later if you need to. Focus on getting your build up and running first!
Honestly, it's pretty common these days to lean towards air coolers since they’re often about as efficient as liquid ones, plus they're typically easier to manage. Just something to keep in mind for your build!
I like the clean aesthetic of liquid coolers, but I'll weigh my options!
Since you're using an AM5 motherboard, you won't be able to switch to DDR4. The RAM type is determined by the motherboard and CPU; DDR4 is for AM4, while you're on AM5 which is meant for DDR5. So I'd definitely suggest going for the DDR5! In the long run, it's worth it for performance and staying up-to-date. Also, consider getting a Thermalright Peerless Assassin CPU cooler instead of the liquid cooler if you're looking for something reliable and efficient.
Yeah, I figured that going with DDR5 makes more sense. It's only a £100 difference, so I can handle that for better performance!
Is there a specific reason you prefer air cooling over liquid? I always thought the liquid coolers had a more modern look.

That's good to know! I might just stick with air then.
