Should I Choose Fedora or Ubuntu for My Family’s Linux Switch?

I'm looking to switch my family from Windows to Linux because our computers can't upgrade to Windows 11. I want to choose one distribution that works well for everyone, including my Surface Pro. I'm okay with some initial setup, but I want a system that requires minimal maintenance over time. My wife isn't very tech-savvy, so I want her to have a smooth experience. I'm leaning towards Fedora since I use RedHat at work, but I had a good experience with Xubuntu on both my Surface Pro and a cheap laptop. How does Fedora compare to Ubuntu in terms of stability and long-term use? Are there any specific issues or "gotchas" I should be aware of before diving in?

Honestly, both Fedora and Ubuntu are solid choices. If your family is on board, just toss a coin to pick one! But you should definitely consider how comfortable they are with Linux compared to what they used to have.

Just to clarify, all of our current computers are running Windows, but they can't be upgraded to Windows 11. So, our options are basically to get new machines, pay Microsoft for updates, or switch to Linux.
