I'm new to building PCs and currently have a 1080p, 60Hz monitor. I understand that purchasing a high-end GPU might not make sense since my monitor can't support it. I've seen benchmarks showing that a 5060 can handle most games at 1080p, 60fps. Does this suggest anything higher than a 5060 is unnecessary? Also, I'm curious about whether it's worth upgrading to a GPU with 8GB of memory. Finally, if I go with the 5060, what AMD CPU would pair best with it? Thanks for your help!

Honestly, going for a GPU above what your monitor can display seems excessive. Even a slightly older 3060 can run most games at over 140 fps at 1080p, but since your monitor is capped at 60Hz, you might not see the benefits. I suggest considering an upgrade to a display with a higher refresh rate instead, like a 165Hz monitor, which can drastically improve your gaming experience.

Seems like I need to get a new monitor first.
