Hey everyone! I'm currently using an Intel i7-11700K paired with a Zotac 3080 Ti and 32GB of Corsair DDR4 RAM. I also have a Corsair RM1000 power supply and a Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix for cooling. Unfortunately, my PC has stopped posting, and I've narrowed it down to a dead GPU that's out of warranty. I managed to find an MSI Vanguard 5070 Ti at a great price, but I'm wondering if I should also upgrade my CPU. When gaming on titles like Alan Wake 2, The Last of Us, and Uncharted, my CPU usage spikes to about 85% with temperatures reaching 80 degrees, while my GPU runs at 99% usage with only 40 degrees. Any advice on whether I really need to upgrade the CPU for these games? Thanks a bunch!

Honestly, unless you're experiencing a significant drop in performance after the GPU upgrade, I'd say stick with your current CPU for now. Since your GPU is maxing out, that indicates your CPU is keeping up well enough. Although, if you're looking for an upgrade in the distant future, AMD's X3D CPUs could be worth considering.
As long as your GPU is maxed out and handling the heat well, your CPU should be sufficient. It's odd your GPU runs at just 40 degrees under load; double-check that reading! If you're planning to stick mostly to gaming, I'd avoid jumping to Intel for the next couple of years and look at AMD options instead.
You might not need to upgrade your CPU, especially since your GPU is hitting close to 100% usage while gaming. That usually means your CPU is doing just fine! Just test out the new GPU first, and if you still feel like the performance isn't there, consider an upgrade later.
