Should I upgrade to a 5060 8GB graphics card?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card from an Rx570 4GB to a 5060 8GB. I've heard mixed reviews about the 5060, especially regarding its memory capacity, but I don't really have the budget for something pricier. I'll be playing various games like RDR2, Resident Evil, Yakuza, and other AAA titles. With the rising prices for RAM, I'm eager for some advice. Is the 5060 worth it, or is there a better option out there that won't break the bank?

Upgrading to the 5060 would be a big step up from your Rx570, but keep in mind that the 8GB of VRAM might limit you down the line. There are already games that struggle with just 8GB. If that's your only option budget-wise, it could still do the trick, but consider the resolution you play at!

I noticed RE4 Remake can push up to 11GB of VRAM at 1080p. It’s concerning how some games can be so demanding! But honestly, maybe it's more about the developers' optimizations than the hardware.

I play at 1080p on a 75Hz monitor, so that should be fine for my needs.

What alternatives can you suggest that are better than the 5060 but won’t cost a fortune?

Personally, I wouldn't go for the 5060. I think you should aim for at least a 12GB card at this point in time. It just seems like a better investment for future gaming.

Agreed, minimum 12GB seems like the way to go nowadays.

There’s nothing wrong with the 5060 if you get it at the right price! Just weigh your options carefully.

It really depends on your budget. You might find a good deal on a 9060XT 16GB. I saw one for about $380 recently, which is a decent price. But if that still feels steep, then stick with what you can afford. The 8GB will be a step up from your current setup, at least!

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for that and try to bump up my budget a bit.
