Hey everyone! I'm currently using a Ryzen 5600G and a 7700XT, and I'm considering whether to upgrade to AM5 with a Ryzen 9600X or just buy a 9700XT GPU. Unfortunately, I can't afford both upgrades at the same time. I'm a bit concerned about how the 5600G might bottleneck the 9700XT. Which upgrade would give me better gaming performance? My main focus is gaming, but I do some video editing on the side. Also, I already have 32GB of DDR5 RAM that I purchased a while ago.

Since you already have 32GB of DDR5 RAM, definitely go for the AM5 upgrade. It'll set you up nicely for the future and you can always upgrade the GPU later on.
AM5 is the way to go. With the RAM you've already got, it'll actually help eliminate any bottleneck issues you might face with the 5600G if you stick with the 9700XT. The 7700XT is still solid, too!
You might want to check out bundles at local stores to get a deal on that 9600X and motherboard. If it's within your budget, that's the best step now! Then upgrade the GPU later as money allows.
That sounds like a smart plan, especially since CPU prices aren't likely to go up dramatically anytime soon.
Honestly, upgrading to AM5 sounds like a smart move since you’ve got the RAM. The 9700XT might underperform with the 5600G based on game demands. Better to set a solid foundation now!

Yeah, plus if you're gaming at higher resolutions, just upgrading the GPU first might not give you the best results. Get the AM5 and improve from there!
