I've been struggling for hours with my Ethernet connection. After changing the clip on my Ethernet cable, it was working initially, but when I walked away for a bit, it stopped working entirely. I've flushed my DNS using various ipconfig commands, reset the router, and even changed its password. I've tried checking the Ethernet port on my PC, reset the network settings, and restarted everything multiple times. Basically, I've unplugged everything and waited, too. However, while my mobile devices are getting fast internet, my PC's LAN connection is painfully slow. I'm at my wit's end and not very tech-savvy, so any help would be appreciated!

Make sure you check how you connected the wires in the clip when you changed it. It’s easy to make a mistake there, which could affect the connection. A bad connection could explain the internet issues you're seeing on your PC.
Also, if your setup is new, make sure everything is connected correctly to your router or switch. Sometimes it can just be a matter of plugging the cable into the right spot! If all else fails, consider buying a new Cat6 cable, as they are typically more reliable.
From what you've described, it sounds like there might be a hardware issue. It could be the cable, your network interface card (NIC), or the port on your router. If you haven't already, try using a different Ethernet port on the router or testing with another known working cable.
I did check the cable, but maybe I’ll borrow another one to be sure.
The amber light on your Ethernet port usually indicates that there’s a network connection established. It could just mean it’s receiving some data, but the real issue seems to be the slow speeds you're experiencing.
Yeah, I noticed there's a green light too, but it seems like the amber one is blinking aggressively. Could that be an issue?
Lastly, running 'ipconfig /all' in your command prompt could provide more insights. Share those results, and we can dig deeper into what might be causing the slowdown.

Good point! I really hope that's not the case, but I’ll double-check to be safe.
