I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 3700x, 32GB of DDR4 3600MHz RAM, and an RTX 4070. I play games like ARC Raiders, Fortnite, and League of Legends, and I'm interested in diving into Red Dead 2 as well. I'm considering an upgrade to a Ryzen 5 7600x3D, along with a new Asus Rog motherboard and DDR5 6000MHz RAM, which would cost me about $550 for the whole switch. I wonder if this upgrade is worth it, especially looking at how prices are right now. I thought about getting the 5700x3D instead, but it costs around $300 for just the CPU, which makes the AM5 upgrade seem more appealing for an additional $200. Micro Center has the 7600x3D at $229, and there's a $349 deal for the combo with the motherboard. Given my current setup on AM4, what do you recommend?

I’d definitely suggest going for AM5! It's going to give you better FPS and smoother gameplay. Just make sure to get a decent B850 motherboard to keep costs down; there's no need to splurge too much. It's worth it in the long run!
Your current rig is good enough for the games you mentioned, but if you're aiming for high-refresh or 4K gaming, then upgrading might be necessary. If you're gaming on 1080p, you’re pretty set. AM4 is still performing well for most titles.
Honestly, with RAM prices sky-high, it's probably best to hold off on upgrading if you can. Your AM4 setup is still pretty solid, so maybe focus on non-RAM upgrades for now and wait for prices to stabilize.

Totally agree! I’m also on AM4 and can max out older games without issues. Just keep an eye on the newer titles – those might require some upgrades.
