Should I use one or two cables from the PSU to my GPU?

I'm new to building PCs and have a question about connecting my GPU to my modular PSU. My GPU requires an 8-pin and a 6-pin connection. I have a cable that has an 8-pin on the PSU side and splits into two 6+2 pins. Should I use just one of these cables (with the 8-pin going to the 8-pin GPU and the 6-pin GPU connected via the extra 6+2 pin), or would it be better to use two separate cables (one from the PSU to the GPU's 8-pin and another from the PSU to the GPU's 6-pin)? I hope that's clear enough. Thanks for your help!

You can use just one if you want, but it's safer to go with two and let the secondary plug hang. It's not a major issue, but better to be cautious!

It's ideal to use two cables. Even if it seems like the GPU isn’t drawing too much power, having two cables connected is safer and helps avoid any potential power issues.

Using two cables is definitely the best practice. Even if your GPU could technically run on one cable, using two can help prevent issues down the line, especially with power distribution.

It's generally a good idea to use two separate cables when connecting your GPU. This helps to spread out the electrical load, which can add a bit of safety. So, go ahead and connect one cable to the 8-pin and another to the 6-pin.

Got it, thanks! I was worried about overloading the GPU or something. Appreciate the advice!
