Hey everyone! I'm looking to enhance my gaming and productivity setup with an upgrade that won't exceed $600. Just to clarify, I have enough RAM and storage for now, so I'm not considering these aspects.
As a web designer, I use my PC for graphic design, light 3D modeling, coding, Photoshop work, video editing, running and testing LLMs locally, and app building. I also love playing AAA single-player games at 1440p ultra settings and sometimes dive into CS2.
I recently came into some extra cash, and I want to invest it to elevate my PC experience.
Here's my current setup:
1) CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X
2) GPU: RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB
3) RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 64GB 6000Mhz DDR5
4) Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk Wifi
5) CPU Cooler: Lian Li GA2 Lite 360mm ARGB AIO
6) SSDs: Silicon power UD 90 4TB, Adata S60 XPG gammix 2TB, Gigabyte 2TB SATA SSD, Seagate Barracuda 24GB HDD
7) PSU: Corsair RM850x 80+ Gold
8) Cabinet: Lian Li V100R Black
9) Monitor: MSI MAG 274QRFW 27 inch IPS 180Hz
What upgrades do you recommend? Should I consider adding a second GPU like the ARC B580, or is there a better option?

If you’re looking at performance, the motherboard is the only component that seems a bit out of sync with your powerhouse build. Upgrading to a newer board could help, but don’t expect dramatic changes in everyday usage.
Given your budget, I'd suggest considering either upgrading to an X3D CPU or a better motherboard to take advantage of newer technology like PCIe 5.0 and potentially better SSD performance. Also, a good SSD with DRAM cache, like the Crucial T710, could make a real difference for batch processing. If you want to wait, the upcoming 9950X3D2 is supposed to be fantastic for both gaming and productivity, but it might be a little pricier. Just a thought on the second GPU: it may not be worth it unless you're doing high-end rendering or similar tasks.
Do you have any idea how much the 9950X3D2 might cost?
Have you thought about upgrading your monitor or peripherals instead? High refresh rate monitors can significantly improve your gaming experience. You might want to save up and do a bigger upgrade on the PC down the line.
Which 1440p monitor would you recommend under $600?
Another monitor could lift your setup too! Having a dual-monitor workspace is fantastic for productivity. Just make sure to choose one that fits within your budget.
Which one would be a good choice under $600?
Honestly, your setup looks great already! Unless you're feeling some serious performance issues, you might just want to enjoy what you have. Upgrading all the time isn't always necessary.
I get that, but I'm specifically looking to upgrade something to enhance my experience.

Would PCIe 5.0 really boost the RTX 5070 Ti that much? I currently have Gen 4 SSDs.
