Hey everyone, I'm considering making a switch from my Cursor Pro Plan to the Claude Pro Plan and utilizing Claude Code for my programming work. I'm curious about the usage limits with the Claude plan. What are the differences compared to the 500 requests per month on Cursor? Does switching to Claude really offer a better quality experience?

From my experience, there’s definitely a noticeable difference. With Claude, you can have those 50 sessions, and they are pretty generous with usage. If you manage your tasks well and clear out context when you switch tasks, you won’t hit limits easily. But be mindful of the session time, since that’s where you’ll feel the constraint if you’re not careful!
I have both Cursor and Claude Pro, and I’m pretty hesitant to switch to Claude Code. I mainly work in Visual Studio 2022, and I’ve heard that using Claude Code can mean losing some control over your code. It’s crucial for me to keep a solid grasp on what I'm doing, so I’m not sure if it’s the best fit yet.
I tried using Claude Code today, and you can definitely run it through the terminal while keeping your IDE open. Just make sure to undo any changes you don’t like! It helps maintain control while still using its features.
I did some digging and found the documentation on using Claude Code with your Pro or Max Plan. It was a little hidden, but it explains a lot about the usage limits. Basically, you get 50 sessions, each lasting up to 5 hours. You can do quite a bit during those sessions! Just remember that clear context management is important to avoid getting bogged down with information overload.
I’m currently using Claude Code with WSL for a .NET 4 WPF app. It integrates with Visual Studio 2022 pretty well, using MSBuild. So, it might be more compatible than you think!
