I'm currently using a 3070 graphics card and considering whether to upgrade to a 5070. I'm curious about how much of an improvement I would actually see with the 5070, and if it might be better to just save up for the 5080 or 5090 instead. Is the move to a 5070 worthwhile, or should I hold out for a higher-end model?

I recently moved from a 3060 to a 5070, and I found the upgrade to be significant. If you're gaming at 1080p or 1440p, the 5070 is a solid choice. You should definitely notice a difference, even coming from a 3070.
It really depends on what you’re playing and at what resolution. If you're mostly at 1440p, the 3070 is decent, but if you want better performance for 1440p or into 4K, then the 5070 or 9070XT would be better. If you're aiming for just 4K, consider the 5080 or 5090 instead.
The upgrade to a 5070 from a 3070 is quite decent, but if you can stretch your budget, I recommend looking at the 5070 Ti for better long-term value. The difference is substantial enough to make it worth considering. Plus, frame generation can help boost your fps in demanding games!
Yeah, but that 5070 Ti is pricey. OP would really need to increase their budget significantly to grab one.
Generally, when upgrading, you want at least a 40-50% performance increase. The 5070 provides about a 44% boost over the 3070, so you'll definitely feel the generational upgrade. Just keep in mind that the jump to a 5080 or 5090 comes with a noticeable price increase.
I have a 3070, and while it's been great for 1440p gaming—getting over 100fps in most newer games—I do notice some performance dips now. If you're not feeling satisfied with performance in your favorite games, the 5070 (along with the 5070 Ti or 9070 XT) are worth considering for better performance.
Exactly! I went to a 5070, but prices are getting pretty steep right now.

I'm also loving my 5070 on my 4K setup; it runs everything at a smooth 60fps and can go beyond 100 with frame generation.
