I'm considering making the switch to Linux as my primary operating system due to increasing frustrations with Microsoft, especially their push for non-local accounts and resource-heavy applications like Co-Pilot. I have some experience with Linux, but I mainly used it in a virtual machine. My setup is primarily for gaming and I need reliable remote access to my work computer for after-hours emergencies. I'm curious about the current state of Linux compatibility with hardware, specifically Wi-Fi drivers, since I can't use a wired connection right now. I'm looking at distros like Pop!_OS or Linux Mint. Based on my hardware setup - an MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk Wi-Fi, AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 6600, and some Logitech wireless gaming peripherals - are there any significant issues I should be aware of? Also, what distros would you recommend or advise against?

You might want to boot a live USB first to check how your setup runs on Linux before fully committing. It's a great way to get a feel for things and see if any major issues pop up.

Also consider setting up a dual boot with Windows. That way, if anything goes sideways during the switch, you still have Windows available as a backup for emergencies.
