I'm putting together a PC build for under $1000 primarily for gaming on a budget 4K TV and doing some CAD work as a hobby. I've been using a GE75 Raider gaming laptop from 2021 with a Laptop 2070, so most of the components I'm looking at will be an upgrade for me. Here's what I've got so far:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-Core Processor - $206.31
- **Cooler**: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE - $35.90
- **Motherboard**: ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi Micro ATX - $139.99
- **RAM**: TEAMGROUP T-Create Classic 32 GB DDR5-5600 - $74.98
- **Storage**: TEAMGROUP MP33 1 TB NVME SSD - $56.99
- **GPU**: MSI GeForce RTX 3060 12GB - $329.99
- **Case**: Thermaltake Versa H21 - $54.99
- **Power Supply**: be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 750W - $99
Total Cost: $962.25
Any critiques or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure to choose RAM with good timings, as AMD CPUs can be quite particular. You might want to swap the case for one with better airflow and consider a less pricey PSU since you might not need something that high-end for this build. Also, there are cheaper NVMe drives that could save you some cash while still delivering good performance!
Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend the RTX 3060 at its current price. With newer GPUs like the 5060 releasing soon, it might be worth waiting. Plus, playing at 4K with a ~$300 GPU isn’t going to give you a great experience; if you can stick to 1080p, that might work better until prices adjust.
Thanks for the insight! I chose that case mainly for the space to build in it, didn’t think about airflow much. The PSU was recommended by LTT, so I figured it was a safe bet. I'll keep looking and see if I can find a better setup that fits my needs.
