Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 9 5900x, but now my PC won't boot. I updated the BIOS using M-Flash without a problem and tested it with my Ryzen 5, which worked fine. However, when I installed the Ryzen 9, the PC powered on (fans and lights lit up), but there were no USB lights, and it wouldn't boot. I thought maybe the BIOS didn't install correctly, so I swapped back to the Ryzen 5, but I encountered the same issue. I attempted flashing the BIOS with several versions but had no luck. I've also cleared the CMOS by removing the battery for 15 minutes and carefully re-plugged all components. Is there anything else I can try before concluding that something might be damaged?

It sounds like you’ve done quite a bit of troubleshooting already! First, double-check that your CPU is seated properly in the socket. Sometimes a tiny misalignment can cause boot issues. Also, make sure your power supply is providing enough wattage, as the Ryzen 9 uses more power than the 5. If everything looks good, try booting with just one stick of RAM to see if you can get any further. Let us know how it goes!
I agree with the previous suggestion! Additionally, I recommend checking your motherboard for any visible damage or abnormalities, especially around the CPU socket. If you have another compatible CPU, try booting with that to see if the motherboard is the issue. Sometimes BIOS updates can be a little finicky, so rolling back to an earlier version might also be helpful.
Definitely check for damage. I once had a board that worked with one CPU but failed with another because of a faulty socket. Lastly, resetting the BIOS to default settings might also clear any odd configurations that prevent booting.
Great advice! I had a similar issue once, and it turned out to be a RAM compatibility problem. Just using one stick really helped diagnose the issue!
