Trouble updating Windows 11 – corrupted files?

Hey everyone, I'm having a frustrating issue with my Windows 11 updates. I tried to update recently, but it keeps telling me that my system files are corrupted and that I need to fix them before proceeding. The last successful update I had was back in May, and since then, I haven't been able to install any further updates. I've tried several things:

1. I ran 'sfc /scannow' which told me that there were no integrity violations.
2. For DISM commands, 'Checkhealth' resulted in "The component store is repairable."
3. The 'RestoreHealth' command just never finishes and ultimately fails.
4. I've even reset the update services both through MSC and CMD, but nothing changes.
5. I attempted a repair using the Windows Media Creation tool, but that also fails to complete.

Interestingly, other updates like Windows Defender and .NET Framework update normally, it's just the Windows versions stuck. What could be causing this?

Have you tried using the command prompt as an admin to run 'chkdsk C: /f'? Since Windows is in use when you try to run it, you'll need to reboot your PC to let it complete at startup. I had a similar issue before where this step got my Windows updates working again, but I'm not entirely sure why it helps! Might be worth a shot!
