Troubleshooting Q-CODE 92 on My Workstation Build

I'm building a powerful workstation with an AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9955WX and I'm stuck at Q-CODE 92 during POST. Here's what I have: 16-core Threadripper CPU, 32GB RAM (2x 16GB Kingston Fury DDR5), a 4TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD, and an NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 GPU. I've tried moving the GPU to different slots, cleared the CMOS, and I'm using USB4 for monitor connection. The manual says that Q-CODE 92 indicates that PCI Bus initialization has started, but I'm not sure if it's a BIOS issue, PCIe initialization problem, or something else. What are some things I could try next?

There's a post linked to a similar issue, where someone resolved theirs by swapping the GPU. If you have another GPU to try, it may be worth checking if that resolves the POST issue. If not, I'm afraid it could be a hardware fault on the motherboard.

I saw that post too, but I don't have another GPU to swap in. I just have to work with what I've got for now.

One thing you could try is making sure that the CPU is seated properly in the socket. Sometimes that can prevent the system from posting properly. You might want to take the cooler off and double-check that everything looks good and then reattach it.

Yeah, double-checking the screws is key. Just be mindful not to over-tighten them like someone mentioned, which can actually cause issues.

It might be related to the PCIe slots. If you've switched slots and cleared the CMOS, have you checked if there's anything wrong with the motherboard? Sometimes the boards can have issues right out of the box. Just a thought!

Thanks, I hadn't considered the motherboard might be the problem. I'll keep that in mind.
