Hey everyone! I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 5600X with an RTX 3070 Ti and gaming on a 3440x1440 144Hz monitor, playing titles like Battlefield 6, The Finals, and Baldur's Gate 3, along with some Quest 3 VR games like Assetto Corsa Competizione and Automobilista 2. I'm looking to upgrade my setup, but I'm not ready to pay for AM5 pricing.

I have two options on my mind:

1. Upgrade to the RTX 5070 Ti while keeping my 5600X, costing about 1200 CAD before tax.
2. Switch to an RX 9070 XT (ASUS Prime OC) and upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, which will run me around 1300 to 1350 CAD before tax.

I'm torn between potentially missing out on DLSS support with the 5070 Ti or the performance drop from sticking with the slower 5600X. Is spending that much more on the 5070 Ti worth it? Let me know what you all think!

If you're looking at the AM4 platform, finding an affordable X3D might be tough, so think carefully about your options. Both setups have their merits, but like others said, prioritizing the GPU improves your gaming experience more than the CPU right now.

Option two really gets more bang for your buck, especially since you're into FPS games. Just make sure your PSU can handle the 9070 XT—at least an 850W to avoid any power issues. Also, funny how some used 5800X3D CPUs cost almost as much as new ones!

If you're considering competitive gaming, the Reflex feature for The Finals could be a game changer. Plus, the RTX 5070 Ti has better memory bandwidth, which can really help in VR performance. But honestly, the RX 9070 XT is about 380 CAD cheaper, so spending more on the 5070 Ti might not make sense. I'd suggest going for the 9070 XT and waiting on the CPU upgrade for now. It's a much more balanced approach without breaking the bank.

That's a good point! Even with a slower CPU, the 9070 XT should still perform well, especially since you’re gaming at ultrawide 1440p, which puts more load on the GPU.

Definitely go with the 5700X3D and RX 9070 XT combo. I'm all about AMD, and I've found they perform great together. But I wouldn’t shell out that much for the CPU—focus on the GPU first and see how it performs!

I have the RX 9070 XT with a 5700X3D, and it's a fantastic setup. But I wouldn't pay a premium for the 5700X3D—there are better options out there for less. Just upgrade the GPU first and see how your current setup holds up!
