I've got an older HP prebuilt computer that my son is starting to use for gaming, and I want to upgrade it a bit. It currently has an i7-6700 3.40GHz CPU, an SSD, and I have a spare Nvidia GeForce 1650 Super graphics card and a semi-modular PSU. The problem is, the motherboard has proprietary slots, which means my PSU and graphics card won't fit.
I'm considering replacing the motherboard and possibly the case as well, but I'm looking for advice on the most budget-friendly options available in the UK. Also, will the 1650 Super be able to handle games like Minecraft, Rocket League, and some indie titles?

First off, definitely check if your CPU is proprietary. For upgrading, you’ll want to ensure you can find a compatible motherboard for the i7-6700. Don’t forget that the PSU and likely the case are also proprietary. In the end, you might need to buy a new case, motherboard, and possibly a CPU cooler as well.
It could be more cost-effective to just build an entirely new system from scratch, especially since prebuilt units often come with a lot of limitations. I'd suggest running the current setup as is for a bit to see how it performs, it might surprise you!
