We're currently using Google Workspace and have Microsoft set up as our external identity provider. The issue arises when users log in to Google; they often get prompted to change their passwords, even though their actual authentication happens through Microsoft. Essentially, users can change their Google password frequently without ever seeing it, since it's managed by Microsoft. Is there a way to prevent these password prompts from Google?

If Microsoft is your identity provider, users should be redirected to a Microsoft login when trying to access Google. Ideally, this setup should allow you to eliminate all Google passwords. Just make sure you're not enforcing SSO across the board or exclude yourself from that enforcement.
You can't completely remove Google passwords. Unfortunately, Google accounts still require a password, even if they're created through Microsoft. The problem comes up when Google's password policies don't align with those of Microsoft, which prompts users to change their passwords when they don’t match.
