I'm planning to upgrade my power supply unit (PSU) from 500 watts to 550 watts, but I have a bit of a question that's been bugging me. I've noticed that some PSUs come with their cables wrapped in a net to prevent tangling. Does anyone know what this is called? I've tried searching for it, but I keep ending up with results about extensions instead. Any help is appreciated!

Quick question: why are you upgrading, and is 550 watts enough? Most folks nowadays usually get at least 650 watts, especially with a dedicated GPU. You might want to check this tier list for good options: [link].
If you're serious about keeping things tidy, consider getting a "modular" or even better, a "fully modular" PSU. This way, you only connect the cables you actually need, which can really help with that cable management issue!
I'll have to look into a modular PSU, thanks!
What you're looking for is called "sleeved cables." If you're interested, there are companies that offer custom PSU cables, like DreamBig from RayMods. Just make sure to measure the lengths you need and confirm the right PSU model!
How would I find out how long the cables would have to be?

Well, I wanted to tidy up the loose cables in my PC. But now I’m seeing these modular PSUs, I might just go for 650 watts since I can’t find good 550 modular ones. Just worried that getting a higher watt PSU could mess things up.
